Forgive my rant, but I think after my hard work the last few months on this blog, I’ve earned one. If you want me to help promote your event, do more than send me a url to a website. The least you can do is prepare a paragraph and provide an illustration. Wait a second…. No, the least you can do is the aforementioned plus at least include a greeting and thank you in your email. I received – and I’m not going to mention any particular event – an email tonight that was nothing more than a url to a website that has information about a charity event this weekend. No hello, no thank you, no would you mind….nothing. I fired back a quick response asking what I was supposed to do with it – yes I made sure to add a hello and signed it. No response to it yet. I don’t have a lot of time right now with some of the projects I have going on. It would seem to me that if I am giving you webspace and taking the time to set it up, the least you could do is put forth some effort. I know, I know….in the time I’ve spent typing this up, I could have probably thrown together something for the blog about this event. Well, I refuse. As my mother used to remind me, “You don’t get something for nothing.”
