Today’s weather story from the National Weather Service:
Chance of storms today, turning colder
An isolated strong to severe storm possible across the east today
(September 21, 2018) – A cold front will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms today. There is a threat of an isolated strong to severe thunderstorm across far northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio this afternoon mainly along and southeast of a Portland, IN to Napoleon, OH line, with the potential threat of isolated strong wind gusts and hail. Confidence in severe weather is low however. Breezy conditions will develop today in advance of the front, with gusty west to northwest winds continuing behind the front later this afternoon. Much cooler weather will affect the region for tonight through the weekend with no additional rainfall expected. High temperatures for the weekend will range from the mid 60s to mid 70s. In addition, the gusty winds will result in hazardous swimming conditions on southern Lake Michigan through Saturday morning. Life threatening waves and currents are expected, stay out of the water if visiting the beaches.
