(September 14, 2018) – A dense fog advisory is in effect from through 10 am for the area highlighted in grey on the map. Dense fog will continue to spread from the east towards the west, reaching areas west of Interstate 69 after 3 am EDT. The poor driving conditions will persist through the remainder of the night and improve after 9 am EDT. If you are out driving tonight, or heading for work in the morning, expect to encounter visibility of ј mile or less. Use caution at intersections, ensuring you use your low beam headlights.

…DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EDT THIS MORNING…

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Dense Fog Advisory…which is in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER…

  • VISIBILITIES…One quarter mile or less at times. Near zero visibility possible in some locations.
  • TIMING…Overnight into the early daytime hours. Fog should begin to lift after 900 am EDT.

IMPACTS…

  • Poor visibilities will result in hazardous travel conditions, especially during the morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving…slow down… use your headlights…and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
